Yamaha CLP665GP – The Beauty Of A Grand Piano With The Convenience Of Digital
The Yamaha CLP665-GP is a digital mini-grand piano. Housed in a stunning Polished Ebony or Polished White cabinet, the CLP665GP has all the convenient functions of a digital piano, but the look of an exquisite mini grand piano. This model is popular in family homes, as well as restaurants, hotels and even retirement homes.
The CLP665GP sounds just like a grand piano, but due to the the sound being produced digitally, this piano never needs tuning, and the volume can be turned up or down according to the environment in which it is being used. You can even plug in headphones for silent practice in the evenings without disturbing other family members or neighbouring properties!
The CLP665 measures just 143cm wide and is only 115cm deep at the furthest point of the curved back. It truly gives the appearance of a beautiful baby grand piano, but within a greatly reduced space.
Lifelike Piano Performance
Features such as Yamaha’s Graded Hammer X (GH3x) keyboard action and choice of both Yamaha CFX and Bosendorfer piano sounds result in a truly immersive piano playing experience. This piano is the ideal instrument for both beginners and more experienced players alike. The key tops have been finished with the Ivory Feel surface for an ultra-realistic feel. The surface is slightly textured so that the player’s fingers do not slip – even during long performances or practice sessions.
Yamaha’s CLP665 features the popular left-located full control panel with bright LCD display. This new model includes Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM), which enables the player to to give a performance with vivid and richly-varied expression.
Virtual Resonance Modelling
The sound of a grand piano resonates throughout the body of the instrument, providing a rich reverberation that surrounds the listener in sound.
This natural reverberation is replicated perfectly in the CLP665GP digital grand piano through Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM), which calculates the various states of the strings for each of the 88 notes on the keyboard from one instant to next. This allows for the vivid, richly-varied expression that reflects the limitless number of factors inherent in playing the piano.
Duplex scaling technology also enhances the resonance of the upper octave, and adds both brightness and body to the character of the high registers. Duplex scaling is found on high quality acoustic grand pianos, and the new Yamaha CLP600 series is the first digital piano range to emulate this important feature.
